1743 - Born at Poynton Manor on Nanjemoy Creek.

1768 - Married Margaret Brown of “Rose Hill”.

 

 

1770 - Built “Habre De Venture”.

 

 

1773 - Member of Charles County’s Committee of

              Correspondence.

 

 

1775 – 1779 - Member of the Continental Congress

 

 

1776 - Youngest Signer of the Declaration of Independence

 

 

1776 - 1781 - Served in the Maryland Senate, Western Shore.

 

 

 1780 - Represented Charles County in the lower house of the

               Assembly.

 

 

1784, 1785 - Member of the Continental Congress.

 

 

1784 - President pro tempore of the Continental Congress.

 

 

1787 - Death of wife Margaret Brown Stone on June 3rd.

 

1787 - Died on October 5th in Alexandria, Virginia.

 

 

1787 - Buried at “Habre De Venture”.
